This mulch is ground from cedar trees so the particle color and texture provides an attractive and varied blend similar to cypress mulch but more red in color. Valued for its rustic charm or urban chic look, the Western Red Cedar has been known to also help deter insects with its long-lasting aromatic smell. Unlike hardwood mulches, cedar mulch does not break down and provide nutrients to the soil but it does address all other mulching benefits.
